To Generate an Inspection Report

This procedure details the steps in SmartInspect for generating an inspection report.
  1. If necessary, select the inspection section from the building information plan menu
  2. Ensure that a value has been entered into all choice-list fields in the section
    Trouble: SmartInspect requires that all choice-list fields within the inspection section have a value. If not, an alert will appear when Email Report is tapped.
  3. Optional -Ensure that any comments or notes have been added to the appropriate text fields
  4. If necessary, select the section containing the Contacts table from the building information plan menu
    Tip: Adding a contact to the Contacts table enables SmartInspect to automatically add a recipient for the inspection results email. To enter this information manually, or if you have already completed these steps, skip to Step 8.
  5. Enter a building contact into the Contacts table
    Note: For adding text information to a table, see To Add Text Information to an Inspection.
  6. Tap Save
  7. Select the inspection section from the building information plan menu
  8. Tap Email Report
    Note: If a single contact has been added to the Contacts table of the building information plan, the contact's information will automatically populate the email greeting and To: field. If multiple contacts have been added, SmartInspect will surface the options from which the user can select the recipient.
An inspection report has been successfully generated. The iOS Mail app will open automatically.
